What is the Audible Cloud Player?

The Audible Cloud player allows you to stream your books from your Audible library online to your computer. To use the Cloud Player, go to your library and click the Play button next to the title.

What happens to my audiobooks if I cancel my membership?

Nothing at all. Your books are yours to keep. You can continue to listen to them on any of your devices or our app.

What is included in the Audible membership plan?

Can my membership be placed on hold?

Yes, and it’s easy. Audible members with monthly plans can place their account on hold one time every 12 months. That hold can be anywhere between one to three months.

For example:

John decides to put his plan on hold on June 1 for one month. When his plan restarts again July 1, he can't put his plan on another hold for a full 12 months which will be next June 1.

To place your plan on hold, you can always contact one of our customer service representatives to review your account and go over plan options. Maybe all you need is a different plan instead of a hold.

How can I use iTunes to listen to my Audible audiobooks?

Listening to Audible audiobooks with iTunes is easy! To get started:

  1. Download your audiobooks to your computer from the Library page on the Audible desktop site.
  2. Launch iTunes
  3. Click the Book icon in the top left corner of the iTunes window.
    Note: You may need to click the ellipsis (…) menu to locate the Book icon.

  4. Click My audiobooks.
  5. Double-click on the cover art of the audiobook you wish to hear to begin playback.itunes, listen, audiobooks, chapters, chapter, playback, play, pause

    • The Play arrow initiates playback. It will turn into the Pause icon while listening so you can pause the audiobook at any time.
    • Clicking on Chapters will allow you to jump forward or back in the audiobook based on where each chapter begins.

    • Note: Depending upon whether you are using a PC or Mac, the Chapters option may be located at the top of your computer screen.

    • Clicking and dragging the scrubber bar allows you to move to a specific point in the audio.

    • iTunes will set your default view as audiobooks – meaning, you will see the cover art for the imported Audible audiobooks. However, this menu allows you to change how you view your audiobooks, including how they are sorted.

    • To remove an Audible audiobook from iTunes, right-click the title in question and select Delete. This will also remove the title from any Apple devices that sync with this library.

How can I purchase a gift membership from Audible?

An Audible gift membership is the gift that fits everyone. You can choose between 3, 6 and 12 months. Here's how to buy one:

  1. Go to the Gift Center.
  2. Select which gift membership you would like to give.
  3. Click Give as a Gift.

  4. Choose your delivery option.

    • Send Email On: The gift will be sent by e-mail on the delivery date you choose.
    • Print It Out: You can print the claim code and deliver it in person.
  5. Click Add to Cart.
    1. The gift membership will be added to your shopping cart. Click Next Step and then Complete Purchase to buy the gift membership.

Can I gift credits?

Unfortunately, not at this time. But you can give a gift membership.

Here are some other questions you may have about gifts

Do gift credits expire?

Yes, they expire six months after the gift membership ends.

For example: If a gift membership ends on January 1, any remaining gift credits from that membership will expire on July 1.

Do gift credits affect my rollover limit?

If you added a gift membership to your existing Audible membership plan, they will not cause any of your membership credits to expire.

Note:Gift credits will expire six months after the gift membership ends.

How can I buy more credits?

For Audible members, there’s an option on the Audible website. You can buy more credits if you:

  • Are on the same Audible plan for two months
  • Have only one or no credits in your account
  • Are on a yearly plan and at least 30 days from your next bill date

You can buy on the Desktop Site or Mobile Site.

After you buy your credits, you’ll receive and email confirmation. If you weren’t able to buy, call customer service for help.

What is Family Library Sharing?

Family Library Sharing allows you to share your Amazon and Audible audiobooks with the other members of your Amazon Household. As an Audible member, this means you will be able to share any audiobooks in your library with the other member of your Amazon Household.

Note:At this time, you cannot share your Audible Membership Benefits in a Amazon Household. In addition, you cannot share audiobooks with child profiles.

How can I transfer my Audible audiobooks to an MP3 player or non-Apple device?

To transfer your audiobooks to an Audible compatible device (i.e., MP3 Players, Garmins, SanDisks) you will need to install Audible Manager. (It's easy, don't worry!)

Next, plug the device into your computer and follow these steps. (If you'd like, you can call us and we'll walk you through it!)

  1. Open Audible Manager.
  2. Click Device > Add New Device.
  3. You will now see a complete list of all AudibleReady devices.
  4. Select your device from the list provided.
  5. Click OK.
  6. You will receive a message indicating that Audible Manager must be closed to install the component files. Click OK to close the program.
  7. Audible Manager will now install a plug-in for the device you selected. Once completed, please re-open Audible Manager. Your device will appear under the Mobile Devices section located in the bottom left corner.
  8. Right-click on your device.
  9. Select Activate. You will then be prompted to enter the email address or username you use for Audible and your password.
  10. Make sure your device is still selected in the bottom left corner.
  11. Select the Audible audiobook you would like to transfer.
  12. Click Add to Device in the upper right corner.

You will see a progress bar letting you know the transfer status. Once completed, your Audible content will be transferred to your Audible compatible device. Happy listening!

How can I listen to an audiobook using the Audible Cloud Player?

The Audible Cloud Player allows Windows and PC users the ability to stream purchased audiobooks through the Library page of the Audible website instead of downloading. If you are looking to download your content to a mobile device, or want to learn more about alternative ways of listening, click here.

  1. Hover over the Library link on the Audible desktop site.
  2. Click My Books.

  3. Click the play button under the audiobook's cover art.

    Tip:If the cover art does not have a play button directly under it, click View All Episodes or See Latest Episodes to bring a list of the content from that audio subscription where you will see play buttons for each piece of content.

  1. Go to Amazon's Your Content and Devices page.
  2. Click on Your Content.
  3. Using the drop-down menu next to "Show," click Audiobooks.

  4. Find the audiobook you'd like to listen to. Click the Actions box to the left of the title.

  5. Click Play.

    Playback should begin within a few seconds.
